The Training Course for Physicians with Professional Skills is designed to produce physicians in advanced specialized fields with excellent leadership skills through training in the following areas:
(1) highly specialized diagnosis and treatment techniques (including clinical technology linked to acquisition of special medical accreditation) required of physicians with professional skills as well as advanced training in medical ethics and bioethics;
(2) a broad knowledge base in human medicine, veterinary medicine and other areas of biology research;
(3) a broad knowledge base designed to provide the flexibility needed to adapt to ongoing changes in the medical field;
(4) familiarity with international clinical research, including veterinary medicine-based experiments, and a broad knowledge of amphixenosis; and
(5) a basic grounding in science communication, translational research, intellectual property and information management.
Demand outlook
Demand for the course would come from a variety of different medical institutions, particularly university hospitals and regional core hospitals. In light of the present shortage of physicians, it is envisaged that there would be significant demand for clinical physicians with highly advanced professional, research and leadership skills.

Education program
The Training Course for Physicians with Professional Skills involves multiple forms of instruction including case conferences, case studies, clinical research, presentations at academic conferences and writing of academic papers. In this way, physicians acquire the skills necessary to pursue autonomous clinical research in a variety of different fields.
The general research component provides a systematic framework for acquiring a knowledge base of clinical research, as well as studies of ethical issues pertaining to the use of human and human-derived samples. The special research component provides a knowledge base for pursuing clinical research in specialist fields.
The research teaching component involves clinical research based on patient diagnoses and covers areas such as the causes of illness, the development and evaluation of safer diagnostic techniques, testing and treatment techniques and clinical epidemiology. These skills will serve as the basis for preparation of the doctoral dissertation.
The general research component and the special research component provide training in diagnosis and treatment techniques with a view to obtaining specialist accreditation from medical societies and organizations.
