Education-policy
The combined Graduate School of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine is the first of its kind in Japan, and one of only a handful in the world. At the University of Miyazaki, our aim is to become a leading international center of education and research tackling key issues of the 21st century, most notably food security (particularly meat hygiene and livestock sanitation) and the emergence and resurgence of viruses and infectious diseases such as BSE and highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The University of Miyazaki is committed to improving and enhancing human health and welfare by addressing the challenges of medical and veterinary science.
The Graduate School of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine pursues highly specialized educational and research projects in a wide range of fields, based on the intimate interdisciplinary correlations between medicine and veterinary medicine and the long history of collaboration and cross-over between the two disciplines. The School is dedicated to promoting closer collaboration in the study of academic issues common to both humans and animals but specific to particular regions or areas, from the twin perspectives of medicine and veterinary medicine.
