GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
1. Number of International Students that Will Be Admitted
A limited number of international students will be admitted each year.
2. Qualifications for Application
All applicants must be citizens of countries other than Japan and be one of the following:
- A person who has graduated or is expected to graduate from the medical or dental school of a university or college established in Japan.
- A person who has completed or is expected to complete 18 years of education abroad (the final specialization must be medicine or dentisty) or is expected to complete the course by the end of March in the year in which they are applying.
- A person who has been designated by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology as qualifying for admission.
- A person who has been recognized by the graduate school of University of Miyazaki, Faculty of Medicine as having scholastic ability equivalent to that of a graduate of a medical or dental school of a university or college.
- A person who has stayed for more than four years in the course of medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine and has been recognized by the graduate school of University of Miyazaki, Faculty of Medicine as having achieved excellence.
- A person who has completed 16 years of education abroad (with a major in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine) and is recognized by the graduate school of University of Miyazaki, Faculty of Medicine as having achieved excellence.
- A person over the age of 24 who has been recognized by the graduate school of University of Miyazaki, Faculty of Medicine as equivalent or superior to those in category (1)(above).
3. Applicant Qualifications
Applicants of qualification categories (4), (5), (6), (7) (above) are required to inquire at the Admissions Office of the Academic Affairs Division , to be qualified for application, and to follow the procedures (below):

Recognition of application qualifications
Qualification for application will be based on the presented materials and the result will be announced to the candidate.

- Reception time is from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on Saturday and Sunday.

【Instructions】 A letter of recommendation should be sent by any one of the following from the applicant’s home country: 1) government, 2) embassy, 3) foreign ministry, 4) foreign office or 5) research facilities of the university where the applicant is currently enrolled. - Certificate of Alien Registration
【Instructions】 Applicants currently residing in Japan must send a Certificate of Completion of Alien Registration, obtainable from the city office of one’s current residence. Applicants not residing in Japan must send a xeroxed copy of his or her passport, showing all pertinent data. - Letter of Guarantee
【Instructions】 A letter of guarantee must be written by a person residing in Japan on the form provided by the College. - Certificate of Physical Examination in the form provided by the College
【Instructions】 The physical examination must report the results of a physical examination taken within three months of submitting the application. - Application Fees
【Instructions】 The application fee is 30,000 yen and is non-refundable. (If you mail it, you should use a postal money order; do not fill in the blanks designated ‘recipient’ and ‘commission.’ If you do not reside in Japan at the time of application, ask a person residing in Japan to pay by the postal money order. - Envelope for Return Mail
【Instructions】 A standard envelope will be necessary with postal code, address, name and a 360 yen stamp on it.
6. Precautions for submission of applications:
- Incomplete applications cannot be accepted. Please check to see that all forms are correctly filled out.
- Before applying, please contact a professor of the course that you are going to apply for.
- In case of questions, please contact the Admissions Office.
- Application forms cannot be returned, once received.
7. Selection Process
Selection is based on the results of the written examination, an oral examination, and physical examination.

8. Announcement of Successful Candidates
Successful candidates will be announced at 10:00 on March 22, 2006. All examinees will receive notification of the final decision regardless of success or failure.
9. Entrance Procedures
(1) Period of application
Sunday, March 26, , 2006 – Monday 27, 2006
- Complete materials must arrive at the College on or before Thursday, March 18, 2004.
- If the entrance procedures are not followed by the applicant, admission procedures will be cancelled.

Notes
- The examiantion fee will not be returned for any reason whatsoever.
- If you do not pay the tuition for the first semester during the period of entrance procedures, please pay it anytime between April 1st and 30th, 2006
- Tuition for the second semester can be paid at the same as for the first.
- If the tuition fee is changed during enrollment, the new tuition fee will be established from the time of the change.
- When you send payment by mail, you should use a postal money order and do not fill in the blanks of areas designated ‘recipient’ and‘commission.’
10. Course Program
- The school year begins April 1.
- All candidates for the doctoral degree are required to attend at least four years, earn the credits required by the College under the guidance of the professor in charge, submit a Doctorate thesis, and pass the thesis examination as well as final examinations.
