Memories of Rising Sun!

2016年06月02日

I am T M Zaved Waise, married and Bangladeshi by birth. I got a beautiful opportunity to come to Japan due to Professor Masamitsu Nakazato, who agreed to hire me as a foreign researcher. Six years ago when I first arrived in Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, I was 26 years old, and I believed I was coming to a place of dreams. Don’t get me wrong; I still love Japan, but I am beginning to understand and learn more about the country beyond the shining lights and glittering sights. Adapting to life was not too big a problem, while trying to deal with all the paperwork and procedures took some getting used to, and I still struggle with it, but everything was still fun. I like Japan’s gorgeous landscapes: the mountains, cliffs, ocean, forests of all types. There are vending machines everywhere in Japan, and Japanese convenient stores are excellent. I can find almost anything in Japanese convenient stores, and they’re always clean, well serviced, and safe. I also like public transportation and expressway service areas in Japan. Japanese food is great. It’s healthy, tastes great, and is fun to eat. A healthier diet is definitely a large part of Why Japanese People Live So Long. Japan is a great country and a fun place to work. All seasons in Japan are attractive. I enjoy fireworks festival every summer, winter illuminations, and cherry blossom (Hanami) on spring.

I noticed that the Japanese are a very kind people when you get to know them better, even though they initially appear distant and shy. I was overwhelmed with the kindness I got from the very many friends I met. The Japanese do have respect for the human person and to them, everyone counts. They are also very neat, detailed, hardworking and efficient. As an observer, I also noticed that the Japanese smile a lot and they also love to sing, and the women love to look beautiful but humble. I sure enjoyed my stay in Japan and hope to keep in touch with many nice people I met here. I will always have Japan in my mind.
