August 28–29, 2012 Research meeting at the Department of Medical Chemistry, Kurume University School of Medicine (Prof. Masato Noguchi). The staff were all incredibly welcoming and generous!

August 24, 2012 Attended a lab seminar in the Division of Material Science (Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki) hosted by Dr. Xu Yan. The presentation by Dr. Takumi Ishizuka from RIKEN Yokohama Institute was fascinating and truly inspiring!

August 7–11, 2012 Hirabayashi gave a presentation at the ECM (European Crystallographic Meeting) in Norway.
