October 11, 2012 Visit by Professor Michael Rossmann Professor Rossmann’s seminar was held at the Institute for Protein Research, Osaka University. Due to certain circumstances, I had the honor of picking him up at his hotel. I was extremely nervous to meet a pioneer of structural biology whose name appears in every textbook.

I found myself completely frozen, surrounded by such titans of structural biology as Prof. Tsukihara, Prof. Fukuyama, Prof. Nakagawa, Prof. Namba, Prof. Kurisu, and Prof. Rossmann.

March 29, 2012 Visit by Professor Jack Johnson Had a discussion with Professor Jack Johnson from the Scripps Research Institute (USA), a world-renowned authority in structural virology. Although it was only for about two hours, it was an incredibly meaningful session. Afterward, we held a Takoyaki party in the lab.
