Introduction

The skin is the largest organ in the human body and covers its entire surface. It protects the body by preventing the invasion of pathogens, allergens and other external agents, while also preventing the evaporation of internal fluids. In other words, the skin is an indispensable organ that plays numerous critical roles at the interface between the external environment and the body’s interior, safeguarding it from external threats. The skin also performs many essential functions, such as thermoregulation through sweating, perceiving temperature and pain via sensory nerves, and storing energy and absorbing shock through subcutaneous adipose tissue. Thus, the skin is an extremely important tissue with multiple vital physiological roles.
Our department provides comprehensive care for a wide range of dermatological diseases. As the dermatology department of a university hospital, we have diagnosed and treated many patients with severe conditions and refractory diseases. Building on this experience, we will continue to support patients in their care and recovery.
